RASAID is a group of 14 families from Sydney's Ryde area. Collectively the families have 15 adult sons and daughters with dependent intellectual disabilities.

RASAID has been formed by the parents, who themselves have reached or are approaching retirement age. These tireless parents have unconditionally cared for their children since birth. For whatever reason: physically, mentally or financially, they can no longer continue to do so.

Families urgently need to transition these children to nearby suitable supported accommodation.

RASAID has been successful in securing both federal and state government grants to purchase the land, build the accommodation and partly fund one of the two accessible vehicles needed.

RASAID pledge to support the companies that support us, to make this dream a reality: Holman’s Betta Home Living Eastwood, Dial-a-bed Rhodes and Paul Giles Beds and Seconds Gladesville.

The future residents are at the same time excited and anxious about the changes to come as they prepare for their transition to independence.
